A FULL-TIME FINANCIAL WATCHDOG FOR THE PEOPLEI am a long-time public servant with 15 years of auditing experience. If elected, I will return the State Auditor’s Office to its former high standards and not engage in any private consulting work or activity that will diminish my focus on my only priority, which will be monitoring the state’s use of $20 billion in state funds and federal tax payer dollars. |

Recent News North Carolina Democratic endorsements overwhelmingly favor Beth Wood for State Auditor Dear Voter,
I wish to extend to you my heartfelt appreciation for your support and your turnout, which allowed me to win the May 6 Primary and secure the Democratic nomination for North Carolina State Auditor.
In my first bid for a public office, I received 64.5% of the popular vote and won all but 8 of North Carolina’s 100 counties, which translates to 82% of the state. I look forward to the challenge of the general election, and trust I can count on you for your continued support and enthusiasm. We will need to draw on all the energy and determination in our power to unseat the current incumbent. But it can be done, and thanks to you, I am the candidate who can do it.
During my decade tenure in the State Auditor’s Office, I was instrumental in bringing the state’s compliance supplements up to federal standards, ensuring that federal grants are being used as intended. I was a leader in redesigning the Auditor’s Office training program to make training more relevant to state auditor’s work. And I helped develop employee evaluations that better reflected the job performance of Auditor’s Office employees.
I was raised on a farm in eastern North Carolina, where every dime counted for us. I want to see our taxpayers’ money treated with the same care. I am committed to returning the State Auditor’s Office to its former high standards. I need and will appreciate your support in my ongoing bid for North Carolina State Auditor.
Thank you.
Sincerely yours,
